Montana Tech students were hard at work on their final housing projects at Highlands College as they put the finishing touches on their construction technology program. Two years ago, the school received funding to launch an initiative that would allow students to gain hands-on experience in a real-life lab setting while still in school. The program has been a huge success, with Rich Miller, a construction technology instructor at the school, stating that it provides students with a full immersion experience that integrates everything they learn in the classroom.
As Joseph Scheller, a photojournalist at the Montana Standard, captured these moments on April 23rd, 2024, Braydon Cetraro was seen measuring and marking wood on the roof of a construction trailer while cutting batten strips using a sliding compound miter saw. In another area, Jack Gibson, Payton Gonser, Brendan Gallagher and Matthew Larson were working together to put up interior paint in one of the construction housing projects. Kevin Hanenburg was also observed fastening batten strips to one of the projects to help complete it.
