Giants and Jets Join Forces for Summer Practice Sessions as They Prepare for Upcoming Exhibition Game

1 min read

The Giants and Jets are set to spend more time together this summer with not only their annual preseason game, but also a joint practice planned between the two teams. Giants head coach Brian Daboll shared this news with reporters on Thursday, noting that the practice sessions would likely be held at the Jets’ facility since they are the home team for this year’s final exhibition game.

Last August’s game between the Giants and Jets featured Aaron Rodgers making his first appearance, throwing a touchdown to Garrett Wilson. However, by the time the regular season rolled around, Rodgers was long gone. The Jets ended up winning that game 13-10 in overtime with Tommy DeVito making his NFL debut in relief of the injured Tyrod Taylor.

Now, Taylor is with the Jets while DeVito is positioned behind Daniel Jones and Drew Lock on the Giants’ depth chart. There is uncertainty about Jones’ involvement in preseason games as he continues to recover from a torn ACL. In addition to practicing with the Jets, the Giants also plan to have joint practices with the Lions before their first preseason game on August 8 at MetLife Stadium.
