Dhofar Fall 2024: A Cultural Extravaganza Awaits with One Million Visitors and New Activities

The Municipality of Dhofar is set to launch the Dhofar Fall 2024 activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman. This year, the number of visitors is expected to surpass one million, a significant increase from the previous year’s 962,000 visitors.

Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar, announced at a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai that this year’s activities will begin early and take place in existing and new sites to attract more tourists. The fall season will run from June 21 to September 20, lasting three months, twice as long as previous years.

One of the highlights of the activities will be the launch of the “Atin Square” website, which will offer various events including Omani and Arab artistic concerts at the Al Murooj Theater and other locations. Additionally, there will be a sports challenge field in the games area at Atin Square. The “Return of the Past” activities in the Al-Saada area will be updated to simulate local environments in Dhofar Governorate, incorporating new environments from other Sultanate of Oman governorates.

Furthermore, live performances and arts that showcase Omani culture will be featured during this season, along with the inaugural “Dhofar International Theater Festival.” This festival aims to encourage participation from authorities in Oman and provide a diverse and engaging experience for visitors during this period.
