The University of Jamestown softball team secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Morningside University at the Mustangs’ Jensen Softball Complex. The Jimmies took an early lead with Abby Blair driving in a run in the top of the first inning. They added another run to make it 2-0 before the Mustangs scored in the third to bring the score to 2-1. In the fifth inning, the Jimmies sealed their win with a run-scoring single from Gracie Fisher, making it 3-1.
In the second game of the doubleheader, unfortunately, the Jimmies fell short with a 10-6 loss to Morningside University. Despite starting strong and taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning, they couldn’t overcome their opponents’ comeback. Gentry Turin had a standout performance with a 2-for-3 game and two RBIs but was unable to help his team come out on top. The Mustangs’ Kennedee Jones stole the show with a 3-for-4 game, including a two-run homer in the sixth inning that secured her team’s win.
