Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre is set to have its world premiere of Adam Guettel’s musical “Millions” in the 2024-2025 season. The production, based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, follows the story of two brothers who discover a duffel bag filled with cash while dealing with the loss of their mother. The musical features a book by Bob Martin and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel.

The world premiere will be produced in arrangement with Sonia Friedman Productions and Franco Productions, reuniting Guettel with Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher, who staged the production. Performances are scheduled to run from May 10-June 15, 2025. The upcoming season at Alliance Theatre also includes world premieres of other productions such as “Business Ideas” by Milo Cramer, “Bust” by Zora Howard (a co-production with Chicago’s Goodman Theatre), and “The Reservoir” by Jake Brasch (a co-production with Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Geffen Playhouse).

In addition to these premieres, the upcoming season will also feature new stagings of Katori Hall’s “The Mountaintop” and Lloyd Suh’s “The Chinese Lady”. The full Theatre for Youth and Family season details can be found on the Alliance Theatre website at AllianceTheatre.org.
