Corey Heim, stepping in for the injured Erik Jones, claimed the 32nd starting position at Dover Motor Speedway with a lap speed of 159.327 mph. Unfortunately, Erik Jones will not be participating in Sunday’s race due to a compression fracture in a lower vertebra that he sustained last week at Talladega. Zane Smith and Kaz Grala did not qualify after encountering crashes during Group B practice. Smith experienced rear damage to the No. 71 Chevrolet due to a rear tire issue, while Grala hit the wall head-on in the No. 15 Ford leading to the use of a backup car.
Kyle Busch claimed the pole position by setting a lap speed of 162.191 mph for the upcoming Cup race at Dover Motor Speedway scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET on FS1. This marks his 34th career Cup pole and his second at Dover.
