The release of a nearly hour-long recording containing multiple racist remarks directed towards Black and Hispanic individuals by Frederick Great Plains Technology Center instructor, Bryan Smith, has sparked controversy and raised concerns about racial discrimination in educational settings. The conversation between Smith and Tillman County Sheriff candidate Robert Wallace, where the racial remarks were made, was captured in a series of videos posted on YouTube. In addition to the offensive comments, Smith was heard saying that he only taught at the Vo Tech for financial reasons.
