The Chicago Bears are determined to draft quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. They have already begun preparing him for life in the league, focusing on his acclimation to Shane Waldron’s offense during their pre-draft process. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer revealed that the Bears used three one-hour Zoom meetings to prepare Williams for the NFL, covering terminology, base plays, and red zone and third-down plays.
Head coach Matt Eberflus is confident that Williams will have the offense down pat by rookie minicamp. The young quarterback has been putting in hard work on the practice field during organized team activities and has been surrounded by experienced teammates and weapons like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, and Cole Kmet.
The Bears have set Williams up for success in his rookie season by getting an early start on installing the offense and providing him with a talented roster. With an improved offensive line and a top-10 defense, Williams is well-positioned to excel right from the start.
