Recently, X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new AI model called Grok that powers news summaries. These summaries are now available exclusively to subscribers of the Premium version in the ‘Explore’ section. The chatbot has been made more accessible to users with its release on GitHub and is now available to all Premium users.
The Engineering team at X has shared that Grok may make errors in creating content for news summaries as they can evolve over time. Users are encouraged to verify the results provided by Grok. This new feature resembles Moments, an older Twitter option that highlighted important news posts but was discontinued in 2022 according to reports from specialized media outlets.
In addition to its AI-powered news summaries, X has also recently enhanced Grok with new functionality that allows it to process visual information like documents, diagrams, tables and screenshots. This update was made possible through Grok-1.5 and is now accessible for all Premium users under the ‘For you’ tab on both the web version and iOS devices. There is no confirmation yet if Android devices will also have access to this feature.
