Each year, STAT hosts a new class of Wunderkinds, showcasing the brightest minds in science and medicine. A livestream of the event will be embedded below at 1 p.m. ET for a conversation with past all-star Wunderkinds. The discussion will focus on their journeys and how they’ve achieved success in their careers, as well as their most innovative ideas for the future.

She’s the inventor of the Adenine Base Editor, a gene-editing tool that has potential applications in treating various genetic diseases. Kellie Jurado, Ph.D., presidential assistant professor of microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania, researches immune system development and response to viral infections during early life. Bianca Jones Marlin, Ph.D., Herbert and Florence Irving assistant professor of cell research at Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, investigates the biology of how trauma and stress can be inherited across generations.
