WSFA 12 Welcomes New Sports Director: Davis Baker

WSFA 12 News welcomes Davis Baker to its sports team. Baker has recently joined the station after serving as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for two years. During his tenure at KTEN-TV, he was the weeknight sports anchor and delivered local and regional sports news from north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Additionally, he produced and hosted regular feature shows and football previews.

Baker is a Georgia native who graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism. He has a background in sports broadcasting, including internships at WRBL in Columbus, Ga., and writing for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Ga., covering UGA sports. Baker expressed his enthusiasm for SEC sports and his eagerness to highlight athletes from Alabama while working alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director.

Langello expressed her excitement about the new partnership with Baker, stating that she is confident in his background in sports reporting. She emphasized that Baker’s passion for sports and willingness to get involved in the community make him an excellent fit for WSFA’s team. Langello encouraged viewers to welcome him with open arms as he joins the team to showcase athletes from high school, college, and professional levels in Montgomery and beyond.
