Willie Nelson fans who bought tickets for the first few shows of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour were disappointed to learn that the 91-year-old musician would not be performing. Just hours before the tour kicked off in Alpharetta, Georgia on June 21, an announcement was made that Willie was not feeling well and had been advised by doctors to rest for a few days.
In his absence, Willie’s son Lukas Nelson and the Family Band performed, while other artists like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Celisse continued with their scheduled sets. The exact date of Willie’s return to the tour has not yet been announced.
Despite his absence from subsequent concerts in Charlotte, North Carolina and Raleigh, North Carolina, fans are hopeful that Willie will make a quick recovery and be back on stage soon. The Outlaw tour is also scheduled to make stops in New York and New Jersey.
