Florida lost to Texas A&M 3-2 on Saturday night, securing their spot in the loser’s bracket and setting up a showdown with Kentucky. Although the Aggies have made eight appearances in the College World Series, they have never won an NCAA Championship.
In their opening game of the CWS, Kentucky found themselves trailing 4-3 heading into the ninth inning against NC State. However, a solo home run by Ryan Nicholson tied the game in the ninth, and a walk-off solo home run by Mitch Daly in the 10th secured Kentucky’s first-ever victory in the College World Series.
