West Indies’ response to the opposition’s innings was a bit rocky at first, with Alei Nao making an early breakthrough by getting rid of Johnson Charles for a duck in the second over. Nao had another opportunity to get another wicket soon after when he heard an lbw shout against Pooran, but ball-tracking showed that it would have hit the stumps.
Brandon King managed to steady things with his valuable contribution of 34 runs off 29 balls before being caught by Lega Siaka off the bowling of captain Assad Vala. King played a crucial role in keeping things together and giving some stability to the innings. Another valuable contribution came from Pooran, who scored 27 runs before being dismissed by John Kariko, caught by Tony Ura.
Despite their early struggles, West Indies were able to recover thanks to the efforts of King and Pooran, who provided some much-needed stability to their innings. The two players worked together well and managed to push on towards their target despite the early setbacks.
