Marcocci previously collaborated with Michele on Gucci Beauty, managed by Coty, during Michele’s time at Gucci. She played a significant role in Gucci’s rapid growth and success, leading to the launch of its makeup line and popular Bloom fragrance. Marcocci later joined LVMH as the chief marketing officer and general brand director of Dior Beauty before moving to Valentino Beauty under L’Oréal.

L’Oréal Luxe president Cyril Chapuy described Marcocci as a luxury couture specialist with leadership skills and innovation. Her appointment at Valentino Beauty, with Michele’s support, suggests that Michele has secured substantial autonomy at Valentino. Michele’s involvement in beauty at Gucci demonstrates his commitment to extending his creative vision beyond fashion.

Valentino Beauty is already experiencing significant growth, with sales expected to reach €500 million by 2024, up from €30 million in 2018 when L’Oréal acquired the license. The success of Valentino Beauty, driven by products like the Born in Roma fragrance, makes Marcocci’s appointment crucial for the brand’s future development. In her new role, Marcocci replaces Garance Delaye, who will be joining Aesop’s international marketing division in London.
