The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has released their annual conservative economic forecast, which shows that workers and businesses are attracted to areas with jobs, freedoms, and opportunities for success. The rankings show that states with generous tax incentives, minimal regulatory burdens, and low debt are the most attractive to Americans looking to relocate.

According to ALEC CEO Lisa B. Nelson, Utah was ranked as the most business-friendly state for the 17th consecutive year in the 17th edition of Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index. Meanwhile, New York ranked last for the 11th year in a row. Mr. Williams of ALEC stated that Americans are choosing to relocate from high-tax, high-regulation states like California, New York, and Illinois to states like Utah, Idaho, and Arizona that prioritize free-market principles and taxpayer-friendly reforms.
