Julien Horton, a three-star athlete, quickly made the decision to leave Maryland and join North Carolina after being courted by the Tar Heels. The 6-foot, 175-pound Horton had received 20 offers in his recruitment and had originally committed to Maryland. However, after visiting North Carolina and being impressed with the program, he officially committed to the Tar Heels.
Ranked No. 897 nationally and No. 78 as a safety, Horton brings talent to the Tar Heels as their 11th commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. This class currently ranks No. 41 overall per 247Sports. While North Carolina has already secured several top recruits for the class, they still have more targets to pursue before it’s all said and done. The recruiting process is still in its early stages, but with players like Horton on board, it’s looking promising for the Tar Heels.
