Unlocking Diagnostic Network Optimization Insights: A Collaborative Event for Global Health Access and Outcomes

1 min read

A year after the historic resolution on improving diagnostics, world health experts will gather at the 77th World Health Assembly in Geneva to address pressing global health challenges. The assembly will focus on issues such as supply chain fragmentation and market barriers that continue to hinder access to diagnostics, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

Diagnostic network optimization (DNO) is a crucial process that evaluates gaps, capacity limitations, and inefficiencies in healthcare networks every two to three years. Despite this, much of the information collected during these evaluations remains underutilized or isolated, hindering progress in improving healthcare outcomes.

On May 30th, a collaborative event between Foreign Policy and Cepheid aims to unlock DNO insights by exploring strategies for maximizing its impact. Participants will discuss ways to improve access to vital diagnostic tools and enhance pathogen detection to combat diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and other persistent threats.

The event will take place on May 30th, 2024 from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM CET. Join us in advancing the conversation on diagnostics and contributing to the global effort towards better healthcare access and outcomes.
