Cassandra Alvera Gilleylen, also known as Cassandra Alvera Bowens, a 52-year-old woman from Flint, is currently facing serious legal charges. She has been accused of 30 counts of the unauthorized practice of a health profession, which is a felony that carries a four-year sentence, as well as three counts of identity theft, which is a felony with a five-year sentence.
According to officials, Gilleylen was charged following an investigation into a complaint stating that she worked as a registered nurse at three nursing facilities in Oakland County without a valid RN license. The investigation revealed that she worked under the name “Cassandra Alvera Bowens” at Mission Point of Clarkston, Mission Point of Holly, and Wellbridge of Clarkston from September 24, 2023, to March 5, 2024. Allegedly, she did not hold the proper credentials or educational background to work as an RN during that time.
Gilleylen was given a $75,000 personal recognizance bond and her next court appearance is scheduled for a probable cause conference on June 4 at 2 p.m., followed by a preliminary examination on June 11 at 2 p.m. It remains to be seen what evidence will be presented against her in court and whether she will plead guilty or not guilty to the charges against her.
