Unfriendly Situations to Unharmed K-9 Officers: DogWatch Donates Emergency Kits to Metro Detroit Police Departments.

Recently, DogWatch in downtown Brighton donated canine emergency kits to Metro Detroit police departments. These kits contained essential items such as bandages, peroxide, nail clippers and tick removal tools to ensure the well-being of police dogs who often face unfriendly and potentially harmful situations while carrying out their duties.

Corrie Gizicki from DogWatch discovered the kits at a pet expo and was moved to donate them to Michigan State Police, who were grateful for the assistance as they had previously not had similar kits available for their K-9 officers. During the donation process, Gizicki was pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm and gratitude shown by the Michigan State Police officers and their dogs.

Schrieber emphasized that these canine officers face similar risks and challenges as human officers while working to keep communities safe, search for missing persons, and combat crimes involving narcotics. He highlighted that these dogs are often put in unfriendly and potentially harmful situations as they carry out their duties. The emergency kits provided by DogWatch are well-equipped to handle a variety of emergency situations that may arise while the K-9 officers are on duty.
