Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed concern about the possibility of another blockade of US military aid in Congress. He believes that this would lead to a gradual withdrawal of Ukrainian forces, and emphasized the importance of US support for their anti-aircraft defense, Patriot missiles, electronic warfare jammers, and artillery shells.
Without this support, Ukraine would be forced to retreat step by step, losing key capabilities and resources. Zelensky stressed the critical need to find a way to maintain their military defense without US assistance. In addition to US support, Ukraine has also been relying on a delivery of German Taurus cruise missiles.
However, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has rejected the possibility of providing Taurus missiles to Ukraine, causing further concern for the country’s defense capabilities. The internal discussions in Germany regarding the delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine remain ongoing, adding to the uncertainty surrounding Ukraine’s military support. As such, Zelensky is calling on Germany to reconsider its decision and provide the necessary assistance for Ukraine’s defense.
