UBS has recently made new hires to strengthen its technology team in the US, as the bank continues to expand its coverage of the sector and improve its ranking in the region. One of these new hires is Kevin Cullinane, who will join UBS as a managing director within its technology, media, and telecommunications team. Cullinane previously worked at Barclays and is one of several senior bankers who have moved from that UK lender to UBS in the US.
In addition to Cullinane, UBS has also brought on William Burns as a managing director in TMT, who will be based in San Francisco and report to Neil Meyer, the global co-head of media and telecoms at the Swiss bank. Burns comes from TD Cowen, where he was a senior dealmaker. UBS has been actively expanding its dealmaking team in the US following its acquisition of Credit Suisse last year, with technology being a key sector for growth. The bank aims to break into the top six investment banks in the US and has seen significant growth in its headcount.
While UBS has been strengthening its team with new hires, it has also experienced some departures. Ryan Lund, the global head of technology banking, is set to join Houlihan Lokey, and John Jansen, the head of technology M&A, has also departed. In Europe, former Credit Suisse executive Orazio Tarda
