In a shocking announcement during Tyler, the Creator’s Coachella set, Donald Glover surprised fans with news that he will be releasing two new Childish Gambino albums. The second of these albums will be the final one released under the Childish Gambino name.
In a recent conversation on his Instagram initiative, Gilga, Glover shared that the first album will be a finished version of his surprise release “3.15.20,” which was originally titled “Atavista.” This album was quietly released in March 2020 and will now be available on vinyl. Following this, Glover will release the last installment of the Gambino project, which will serve as the soundtrack to his upcoming film “Bando Storm and the New World.”
Glover explained that “3.15.20” was released quickly during the pandemic, and he didn’t have time to properly mix or master it. The album was originally meant to be titled “Atavista” and is now being released in its completed form. He then announced that there will be one final Childish Gambino album.
The final album will soundtrack Glover’s film “Bando,” and he drew inspiration from past soundtracks like Prince’s album for “Batman” and “Batman Forever.” “3.15.20” was Gambino’s fourth studio album and was released at the beginning of the pandemic. Apart from music, Glover has also been busy with acting, recently starring in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”
During his conversation on Gilga, Glover also revealed that he is working on a new anime with comedian Zack Fox and a cartoon titled “Country Mouse, City Mouse.”
