Nelly Korda, the world’s top-ranked female golfer, suffered a setback when she was bitten by a dog and will not be able to compete in the Aramco-sponsored Ladies European Tour event in London next week. Korda was supposed to defend her title at the Centurion Club in Hemel Hempstead from July 3-5 but had to withdraw from the tournament after being bitten by a dog.
Korda expressed regret for having to withdraw from the tournament on Instagram and apologized to the Ladies European Tour, sponsors, and fans for her absence. She did not provide any specific details about the dog bite, such as where it occurred or the severity of the injury. Despite her recent struggles, Korda remains focused on her next event, which is the season’s fourth major, the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 11-14. Additionally, Korda is set to represent the United States at the Paris Olympics in August where she will defend her Olympic gold medal. She is looking forward to returning to the golf course soon and continuing her successful career.
