Tragic Airstrike Kills Four Aid Workers and Driver in Gaza While Delivering Food and Supplies

2 min read

World Central Kitchen charity has announced that four of its international aid workers, along with their Palestinian driver, were killed in an apparent Israeli airstrike while delivering food and supplies to northern Gaza. The bodies of the victims, who were British, Australian and Polish nationals, were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

The attack occurred just after the workers had crossed into northern Gaza from delivering aid that had arrived early by ship from Cyprus. The source of the attack has not been independently confirmed and the Israeli military has not provided any comment on the matter. However, it is believed that the aid shipments organized by the United Arab Emirates and World Central Kitchen were part of efforts to provide much-needed supplies to the region where many residents face severe food shortages.

The United States has supported the sea route for aid deliveries to northern Gaza, where many face dire humanitarian situation due to Israel’s restrictions on access to the area. Chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen condemned the deaths of the aid workers and called for an end to indiscriminate killing and food restrictions in the region. He emphasized that peace must begin with humanity and should not be delayed.
