The Men’s College World Series is an electrifying time for baseball fans as eight teams battle it out for the national championship. Unlike other tournaments, where one loss means elimination, the College World Series uses a double-elimination format in the regional, super regional, and championship rounds.
In the College World Series, the eight teams are split into two double-elimination brackets. Winners of the first round games will move on to face each other, while the losers will meet in an elimination game. The loser of the matchup between first round winners will play the winner of the first elimination game in another elimination game.
The winner of the second elimination game will face the bracket’s 2-0 team, who only needs to win once to advance to the final. The 2-1 team from the bracket must win twice to advance to the final.
