Swedish household appliance brand Electrolux has announced a new line of smart, high-tech appliances focused on garment care. The range is designed to reduce environmental impact and extend the lifespan of clothes. It includes washing machines, washer-dryers, and dryers that will be available in the Italian market.
Research shows that the average person in Europe discards over 6.5 kg of clothing per year, with most ending up in landfills or incinerators. This amounts to nearly 5 million tonnes of clothing disposed of annually, with many reasons for this related to laundry care, such as fabric wear and tear, color fading, and stains.
Electrolux’s new UltraQuick program promises complete stain removal in under an hour using special technology to evenly distribute detergent and softener. This feature is available on select models and can save up to 30% energy. The brand is committed to promoting sustainable practices and aims to double the lifespan of garments with its new range of smart appliances.
The latest models feature DynamicDisplay screens that offer personalized guidance and simplified navigation. Users can access favorite wash cycles and receive practical suggestions through this display. By connecting to the Electrolux app, users can monitor consumption data and make more informed choices with the help of SmartSelect functions that adjust cycles to save time, energy, and water.
Electrolux’s new range of washing machines, dryers, and washer-dryers will be available across Europe starting in June 2024. These innovative appliances are designed to help consumers care for their clothes more efficiently and sustainably using smart technology and intuitive design.
