Survey Reveals Small Business Owners More Undecided in Election than General Public, Lack of Focus on Key Issues Contributing to Uncertainty

2 min read

A recent survey by Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices revealed that small business owners are more undecided about the upcoming election compared to the general public. The survey included responses from 1,259 small business owners from various states and territories across the United States. While the majority of small business owners plan to vote in November, about 20% are still unsure about who they will support, which is higher than the general public’s rate of indecision.

The findings of the survey suggest that many small business owners feel that presidential candidates are not addressing important issues that matter to them, such as inflation, small business tax policy, and regulatory burdens. Jessica Johnson-Cope, President of Johnson Security Bureau in The Bronx, New York, stressed the importance of focusing on these issues to improve the small business climate for the future of America.

Small businesses across the country are still feeling the impact of inflation on their operations. According to the survey, 71% of small business owners reported increased inflationary pressures and 49% had to raise prices on their goods or services in the past three months. These challenges highlight the need for policymakers to address key economic issues that directly affect small businesses and their ability to thrive in today’s environment.
