Andy Murray, a former world number one, has praised British tennis player Jack Draper for his recent victory at the Stuttgart Open. Draper defeated Matteo Berrettini in a thrilling final to claim his first ATP title and become the new British number one, surpassing Cameron Norrie in the world rankings and currently sitting at number 31.
Murray believes that Draper has the potential to reach the very top of the world rankings and sees grass as a particularly strong surface for him. Despite some tough losses earlier in the year, Murray is confident in Draper’s abilities and believes that with a few different results, he could easily be ranked in the top 20 globally.
Draper and Norrie are set to compete at Queen’s Club, with Draper potentially facing off against Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. Murray is also scheduled to play at the event, facing off against Alexei Popyrin. Norrie will be facing Milos Raonic in his opening match. The British tennis scene is looking promising with Draper’s recent success and Murray’s continued presence in the sport.
