1 min read

According to reports from Mexican authorities, three surfers, two Australians and an American, are believed to have been murdered in a robbery gone wrong in Mexico. The victims were identified as Australian brothers Callum (33) and Jake (30) Robinson, and their American friend Jack Rhoad (30), who were on a surfing holiday on the Mexican coast when they disappeared without a trace last weekend.

Mexican authorities have launched a murder investigation after the Australians did not show up at their previously booked Airbnb and Rhoades was absent from work in San Diego, prompting a missing persons report. Their car was later found burned out near their campsite, and the bodies of the trio were discovered in a 15-meter deep well on Saturday.

Prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez stated that everything indicates the three friends were killed during a robbery when they allegedly resisted, resulting in the robbers shooting them. Three suspects have been arrested, with local police mentioning that they were in possession of narcotics, and one suspect was found with the phone of one of the Robinson brothers.
