The Paris Fashion Week 2024 at Place Vendôme featured some of the biggest names from the world of sports. Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue, described the event as a celebration of 100 years of fashion and sport in the city of Paris.
In attendance were Serena Williams, with her 23 Grand Slam women’s singles titles; Victor Wembanyama, who received Rookie of the Year honors in his first professional season; and Joe Burrow, a star wide receiver recently traded to the Houston Texans with over 800 career receptions in the NFL.
Venus Williams, known for her successful tennis career with seven Grand Slam singles titles and an undefeated record in Grand Slam doubles when paired with her sister Serena, was also present. Eileen GuGu, the youngest Olympic champion in freestyle skiing, won gold medals in big air and halfpipe at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Other notable athletes included Chloe Kim, who won back-to-back gold medals in snowboard halfpipe at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics; Marie-José Pérec, a triple gold medalist at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics; Maria Sharapova, who retired from professional tennis in 2020 after a successful career; and Casper Ruud, who triumphed in the 2024 Barcelona Open in April.
