Springfield Firefighters Quickly Contain Massive Fire at Superior Rental, Preventing Injuries and Minimizing Damage

Springfield firefighters were called to a massive fire at the Superior Rental location on Kearney Street on Monday afternoon. The visible flames from I-44 and Highway 65 were contained to two forklifts, with no reported injuries. Fire crews worked tirelessly to limit the damage and prevent further harm to the area.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. Springfield City Utilities assisted the fire crews in addressing powerline concerns in the region, resulting in 60 outages being fixed, according to their outage map.

Thanks to swift action and coordination with Springfield City Utilities, firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent any additional harm to structures beyond the two forklifts at Superior Rental.
