Sports Community Celebrates Nostalgia and Camaraderie at Scotty James’ Night of Appreciation

On Tuesday night, the Jackson Center in Jamestown played host to a unique event that celebrated the rich history and contributions of local sports enthusiasts. The occasion was an opportunity for fans to engage with their favorite athletes and receive signed memorabilia.

Local sports historian Greg Peterson led the program, titled “Greg Peterson Unplugged Part 2,” where he shared baseball stories and presented video interviews.

Peterson was joined by several other notable figures in Chautauqua County’s sports community, including former Buffalo Bisons and Jamestown Jammers general manager Mike Billoni, Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame president Randy Anderson, and Jamestown Tarp Skunks’ general manager and director of business sales, Christian Dolce.

The evening featured engaging discussions and anecdotes about baseball, highlighting the rich history and contributions of these individuals to the sports community. The audience had the opportunity to interact with Scotty James and receive signed baseball cards as mementos of the event. Anderson discussed his role as president of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame while also sharing some exciting news about upcoming events that will take place at their facility in downtown Jamestown.

Dolce talked about how important it is to foster a sense of community within professional sports teams before turning his attention towards his role as GM for both the Tarp Skunks’ hockey team as well as their summer league baseball team.
