Spartanburg County residents have the opportunity to participate in the Live Healthy Spartanburg survey, which is designed to improve the health and well-being of the community. The survey, which takes about 7-10 minutes to complete, is available now until July 31, 2024. Jalisa Jordan, program manager for Live Healthy Spartanburg, emphasized the importance of community input in guiding decisions related to improving the health of residents in the county.
The survey asks residents about their health needs within their own community and covers a range of topics including access to healthy foods at grocery stores, affordable options for buying fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis, and areas for physical activity. This information is crucial in helping officials make informed decisions that will positively impact the health outcomes of Spartanburg County residents.
Access Health Spartanburg, one of Live Healthy Spartanburg’s over 70 partners, uses data from this survey to create programs that address issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. By gathering input from residents, these organizations can better understand the needs of the community and work towards improving overall health and well-being. Staci Roberts, program director for Access Health Spartanburg highlighted how this information will help tailor programs like theirs to focus on improving health outcomes in Spartanburg County.
