SGMC Health Nurse Squire Dison Recognized for Compassion and Extraordinary Care

2 min read

Cherise Giddens, the Chief Nursing Officer at SGMC Health, recognized Squire Dison as an extraordinary nurse during the June DAISY Award ceremony. He was praised for his exceptional care and compassion towards patients and their family members. Dison received nominations from a coworker in Case Management who highlighted his efforts in assisting a family member from out of the country navigate the hospital.

According to the coworker, Dison went above and beyond by meeting the family member at the parking garage and escorting her to her mother’s room so she wouldn’t get lost. He also escorted her to her car when she was leaving, ensuring that she got safely to her destination. Dison’s actions showed his commitment to going the extra mile for patients and their loved ones, earning him recognition as a shining example of SGMC Health’s warm and friendly culture.

The DAISY awards are presented monthly in front of colleagues, physicians, patients, and visitors. Each recipient receives a certificate recognizing them as an “Extraordinary Nurse” and a hand-carved sculpture called A Healer’s Touch. The local sponsor of SGMC Health’s DAISY Award, The Flower Gallery, generously donates a special floral arrangement of daisies for each honoree. To nominate a nurse for the DAISY award, individuals can visit sgmc.org/daisy.
