On Monday, the Seattle Seahawks officially announced the signing of UFL running back Ricky Person Jr. Person had previously played for the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL. As part of the move, the Seahawks made three cuts by waiving cornerback Ro Torrence, defensive end Rason Williams, and running back TaMerik Williams.
Ro Torrence had an impressive 2023 season while playing at Arizona State, recording 37 tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, and one interception. In 2022 as a redshirt junior, he led the team with eight pass breakups and 36 tackles. Rason Williams played on the defensive line at Louisiana Tech and started all 12 games in his lone season with the team, recording 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
TaMerik Williams returned to North Dakota State in 2023 for an additional year of eligibility due to COVID-19. He played all 15 games with 14 starts and led the Bison with 767 rushing yards. Despite their releases from the Seahawks, all three players have shown talent and potential in their college careers.
