Scotland has announced that defender Kieran Tierney will miss the rest of EURO 2024 after sustaining a hamstring injury during their match against Hungary. The fullback was forced off the field and has flown back to London to be assessed by Arsenal.
Assistant manager John Carver stated, “Kieran’s got an issue with his hamstring and is heading home to be assessed by Arsenal. They’ll give updates as they have it, but he’s obviously extremely disappointed.” Carver mentioned that if Scotland progresses and moves through the tournament, Tierney will likely be back to support the team.
Scotland still has a chance to reach the knockout stage and will play their final group game against Hungary on Sunday. Losing Tierney is a blow to the team, but they will continue to push forward in the tournament without him. Tierney’s absence will be felt, but the team aims to stay focused on their upcoming matches and perform as best as they can in his absence.
