Sources have reported that the prisoners involved in the hostage situation are accused of terrorist crimes, including connections with the Islamic State. The Telegram channel 112 has published footage featuring statements from the terrorists who were arrested in 2022 for planning to blow up the Supreme Court of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic in Russia.
