Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been named to the NFL’s Mount Rushmore for all-time, alongside notable players like Bobby Wagner, Walter Jones, and Steve Largent. Before joining the Seahawks in 2012, Wilson spent four successful seasons at North Carolina State University and won the Big Ten Quarterback of the Year award in his final season.
In his 10 seasons as the Seahawks starting quarterback, Wilson led the team to its first Super Bowl title in 2014 and made another appearance in 2015. He was selected to nine Pro Bowls during this time period. However, after an impressive tenure in Seattle, Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos at the start of the 2022-23 season. Despite a strong performance the previous year, the Broncos decided to trade him to the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he will compete for the starting quarterback position with Justin Fields.
Wilson’s success in the playoffs with the Seahawks has solidified his status as one of the NFC West’s top quarterbacks of the 21st century. Now, with the Steelers, he looks to continue adding to his legacy under the guidance of head coach Mike Tomlin.
