The River Bend Nature Center is hosting the Sip N’ Science event to mark the 45th anniversary of the Terrible Tuesday Tornado in Wichita Falls, Texas. The event will take place on Friday, April 12 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, just two days after the anniversary. Attendees can look forward to learning about Wichita Falls’ extreme weather history, a timeline of the disaster, truths versus legends of the event, tornado trivia, and safety methods – all while enjoying beverages and delicious hor d’oeuvres.
The event will be led by retired News Channel 6 morning meteorologist, John Cameron, who will provide valuable information on staying safe during severe weather, showcase images of the Terrible Tuesday tornado and its aftermath, and share general tornado trivia. This is an opportunity for attendees to delve into the history of the tornado and gain insights on how to stay safe in similar situations.
Tickets for the Sip N’ Science event are now available for purchase. The ticket prices are $25 per person or $20 for RBNC Members.
