Mimi Xu, a talented young tennis player from Wales, is currently training at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton under the tutelage of Mathew James, who was previously the coach of Emma Raducanu. Xu’s impressive performances on the court have propelled her into the top 10 of the ITF junior world rankings.

The 16-year-old from Swansea has been making waves in major junior tournaments, including reaching the quarter-finals of the girls’ doubles at the French Open with fellow Brit Hannah Klugman and having success at the Australian Open earlier this year. Xu is now gearing up for Wimbledon, where she will be competing in both the singles and doubles events.

Xu made history as the youngest player to enter the junior tournament at Wimbledon in 2021 and has since continued to excel on the court. In 2022 and 2023, she reached the round of 16 in both events, and this year she will be competing in the ladies’ qualifying event.

In a statement, Xu expressed her gratitude for reaching the top 10 of the ITF junior world rankings and acknowledged her team’s hard work and dedication to her development. She expressed excitement for what lies ahead and a commitment to continuing to strive for excellence in her career.
