The Helsinki Stock Exchange has reopened after Easter and following some trading, the index of the stock exchange was up by 0.4 percent at 9785.26 points. The most traded stock was Nordea bank, whose share price rose by 0.4 percent to EUR 10.51 euros. Among the top twelve most traded stocks, eight of them saw an increase in their share prices, with Sotkamo Silver leading the way with a rise of 5.4 percent to EUR 0.09 euros per share. Other companies that experienced growth included Tecnotree with a 2.3 percent rise and Atria Foods with a 2.1 percent increase in share price.

On the other hand, SSAB steel company’s B shares decreased by 5.1 percent to EUR 6.52 euros per share after announcing plans to invest around EUR 4.5 billion in Lulea, Sweden instead of Raahe, Finland, as previously planned for its new fossil-free steel production plant. This move is being considered the third step towards Raahe’s future development plans.
