CPM, a leading solutions provider of process equipment and engineered technologies, has recently acquired Innovative Pelleting Solutions GmbH and its high-capacity, direct drive pellet mill technology that was invented by Graf Equipment GmbH. This new technology enhances CPM’s biomass portfolio by offering a high-capacity, direct drive pellet mill that can efficiently process various biomass feedstocks.
The acquisition demonstrates CPM’s dedication to providing their customers with higher-capacity and more energy-efficient biomass machines. The Direct Drive technology, which is now part of CPM’s offerings, has several advantages. By directly driving the force from the pellet mill motor to the machine, the need for additional mechanical components is reduced, resulting in a smaller footprint and simplified maintenance.
The higher torque generated by this technology produces denser pellets, making it a more sustainable option by lowering the use of grease. Additionally, the low vibration and die speed of the Direct Drive technology contribute to the longevity of the machine parts. With this new addition, CPM now offers three types of pellet mill solutions in their expansive biomass equipment portfolio, providing customers with flexibility to plan optimal processing operations.
Maarten Visser, general manager of Industrial Solutions at CPM, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding their biomass technology portfolio to cater to the global biomass market. He stated, “This direct drive pellet mill is the only one of its kind in the biomass industry today. Our customers requested a higher capacity
