Professor Emphasizes Need for National Lab in Vietnam to Boost Semiconductor Industry

During a recent business trip to Hanoi, Professor Lee Young Hee from Korea emphasized the importance of establishing a National laboratory in Vietnam to develop high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry. The professor highlighted the challenges facing the semiconductor industry and the need for new technologies to replace silicon.

Professor Lee Young Hee proposed the establishment of a National laboratory focused on semiconductor research and development, as well as training high-quality personnel for the industry. He stressed the need for infrastructure improvement and modern equipment in universities to support the development of the semiconductor industry.

The professor shared his experience of working with Vietnamese students and admired their dedicated and innovative spirit, highlighting it as a valuable asset for Vietnam’s semiconductor industry. Predicting the need for semiconductor professionals in Vietnam by 2030, Professor Lee Young Hee called for government investment in infrastructure and equipment to support the growth of the industry.

The Ministry of Science and Technology in Vietnam has also implemented programs and projects to develop human resources for the semiconductor industry, in line with the country’s science and technology development strategy until 2030.
