President Bola Tinubu is set to unveil a symbol of hope for Nigerians and the entire African continent on Democracy Day. The world’s largest painting portrait on canvas will be revealed at Eagles Square in Abuja to mark the 25th anniversary of democracy in Nigeria.
The painting, created by 37 different painters representing the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, draws inspiration from portraits of former United States President Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth. The coordinator of the painting project, Opeyemi Alaba, described it as a reminder that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
During his speech on Democracy Day, President Tinubu reassured Nigerians of a better future and announced a consensus reached on the new minimum wage between the Federal Government and organised labour. He further revealed plans to send an executive bill to the National Assembly to formalize the new minimum wage agreement. This initiative aims to uplift the standard of living for the Nigerian workforce and ensure fair compensation for their efforts.
