Imad Wasim, Pakistan’s all-rounder, expressed disappointment after the team’s exit from the T20 World Cup in the group stage. However, he suggested that this could be a blessing in disguise as it will give the players an opportunity to reflect on their performance and figure out what needs to be done to avoid such a collapse in the future. Imad was brought back to the side for the tournament based on his performances during the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
During a post-match press conference, Imad spoke about the criticism of wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan’s fitness. He emphasized that he focuses solely on cricket analysis and does not target individuals. Imad acknowledged that setbacks are part of any game and urged fans not to overlook how players react after a fall. He concluded by reminding everyone that while mistakes were made, players are also human and can feel sadness over disappointing results.
Imad admitted that it was tough for the players to swallow their exit from the tournament, but he said they were more disappointed than their fans. Despite their disappointment, he urged them not to give up hope and continue working hard towards improving their skills.
