Jarquez Carter, a highly sought-after defensive line recruit for Ohio State football, has announced his top six schools. Among those schools are Ohio State, Florida, Penn State, UCF, Miami and Florida State. This news has been welcomed by the Buckeyes as they continue to pursue Carter as a crucial player for their defensive line.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 270 pounds, Carter is a four-star recruit and ranked as the 33rd best defensive lineman in the 2025 class according to On3 Industry rankings. From Newberry High School in Florida, Carter has shown interest in Ohio State throughout the recruiting process. He attended the Buckeyes’ November game against Minnesota and made an official visit to Columbus in late March.
Ohio State has already secured commitments from two edge rushers in the 2025 class, including Zahir Mathis and London Merritt. However, they are still looking for a commitment from an interior defensive lineman like Carter. The Buckeyes are hopeful to add Carter’s talent and skill to their roster for the upcoming seasons.
