North Dakota Health Officials Warn Residents of Potential Danger from Recalled Mushroom Edibles Linked to Death

In North Dakota, health officials have issued a warning to residents regarding recalled mushroom edibles that may be connected to a death in the state. The Prophet Premium Blends Diamond Shruumz products were recalled on June 28, as stated in a release from North Dakota Health and Human Services.

Residents are advised not to consume, sell, or serve these products, which include chocolate bars, cones, gummies, and related items that might still be available online or in stores selling hemp-derived, smoking, and vaping products. The Health and Human Services department has collaborated with the poison control center and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate this incident.

The FDA has reported 48 illnesses in 24 states related to these products by July 2. Of those affected individuals, 46 sought medical attention and 27 were hospitalized. Symptoms of poisoning include seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness, abnormal heart rates, irregular blood pressure, nausea, and vomiting. Anyone who suspects poisoning after consuming these products is urged to contact the Poison Center at 800-222-1222.
