North Carolina’s 6-foot-7, 225-pound wing Harrison Ingram has announced that he will enter the NBA draft. Ingram made the announcement in a statement and video shared on social media on Saturday. After playing two seasons at Stanford, where he averaged 10.5 points, Ingram joined the Tar Heels and quickly emerged as the team’s third-leading scorer, averaging 12.2 points and second-leading rebounder, averaging 8.8 rebounds per game during his time at North Carolina.
Ingram had several standout performances throughout the season, including a double-double in his first Duke-UNC game and a career-high 19 rebounds against N.C. State. His performance against N.C. State marked the biggest output by a UNC player in the rivalry’s history. However, North Carolina will be losing two other starters with Ingram’s decision to enter the draft, including veteran big man Armando Bacot and guard Cormac Ryan.
Despite this news, guard RJ Davis still has the option to utilize a fifth year of eligibility if he chooses to stay in Chapel Hill after being named a first-team Associated Press All-American during the season.
