North Carolina A&T Student Learns About Automation in Lab, NASA Astronaut Shares Space Experience and Governor Emphasizes Importance of Education Investment

William Gray, an NC A&T student, is currently working in a lab where he is learning about automation. He expressed excitement about the research projects happening in the lab and the collaboration with various departments. Gray mentioned that showcasing their work to astronauts and the governor highlights the college’s advanced capabilities and demonstrates their expertise in the field.

During a recent visit, NASA astronaut Christina Koch, who holds the record for the longest space flight by a woman, shared her experience in space. Koch, who attended North Carolina State University, showed a special place in North Carolina that she saw from space using a classroom projector. She emphasized the importance of education in North Carolina public schools, starting from middle school in Jacksonville and moving on to North Carolina State University.

Governor Cooper emphasized the need for investment in public schools in North Carolina during his budget presentation to the State Assembly the next day. He explained that in order for the state to thrive in business and innovation, it is crucial to prioritize education and support the development of its people. Cooper’s remarks underscored the significance of investing in public education for the future success of North Carolina.
